“How’d that interview go River?”
She sighed, “mr waxman looked super paranoid the whole time, and contradicted his earlier statement.”
“Was he lying?”
“He wasnt being honest, but i dont think he was lying.” She paused, “why did Isaac give me such a heavy topic?”
“He just wants to see your capacity. Given your background.” I smiled and put a hand on her shoulder. “There are some really funny ones you’ll get to see too.”
“Oh?” She raised a blonde eyebrow. River had trained under the former head of the Dixie bureau of investigation. Darren Hayes served as a very prolific soldier in the war, and post war joined the Behavioral Analysis unit at the newly formed DBI, and within 10 years became its head.
“Oh yes. Statements 511231.51 and 520101.12. The KFC-man incident.” River looked curious. “So a squad of soldiers gets super drunk on New Year's Eve of 2051, and one of them puts an empty KFC bucket on his head. One of the others spikes the alcohol with some form of fast acting low dose LSD. The soldier who submitted the statement was all crazed and the statement itself was hilarious. The next day he recanted it, he was just high and drunk as fuck.”
River started laughing, my task was complete.
