“How’s that Seraphim Dawn research going, Eva?” I asked, walking Into the Frozen Chariot office. It was a cool late Spring’s day, the office was buzzing with all the normal work, research and archiving and all that jazz. Eva had just recorded a statement in my stead the day before, and it was a very weird one.
“Not the best, everything seems so locked down and secretive. I couldn't find any mention of that project at all within the Dixie database. I found the title in several classified Union documents but couldn't go any further. Its really weird, like they were trying to summon the devil. I only got one other statement with a mention, it's probably the next to be recorded. I wanna have someone else set some eyes on it as well.”
“I’Il have River take a crack at it. It’ll be her first one so might as well send her to the deep end.”
Eva smiled, “You are a horrible guy.”
I smiled in return.
Some time later, after river did her recording, I went over the statement, statement number 620705.01, and had a thought. “Eva, the naming system sucks.”
“God yeah it does. Its worse for in person interviews, it has the .01 or whatever for the statement number on the day, which is so dumb already, should be a unique number for each. But still its .i1 and only goes to 9, what if we need to go over?”
“God thats dumb.” I took a sip of my coffee. “Well i guess we add letters? Like with related subjects?”
“Bro what.”
“Yeah. Guess we’ll know at some point.”
“Oh have you seen the old, old ones?”
“Oh yeah. The like 9940305.01”
“Yep, missing the 1 to save ink, or so i'm told.”
I chuckled. “Sounds like one of Jays retarded thoughts.”
“Ha yeah.” She poured her coffee down the drain. “I need to go berate Mathias on replacing the water filters.” She walked away.
“Moon, you're awful.” River said, walking by. “I have an interview with Waxman tomorrow.”
“I hate you too.”
“Shut up Moon.” She said, smiling over her shoulder.
