Karthas

Karthas is a young Umbrir in her fourth century of life, dispatched to Earth to guide and protect the demigods of Camp Ironsoul during the conflict with the northern demigods.

Appearance

Karthas has pale, almost white scaled skin that bleeds into darker shades at her back, and four deep purple-black wings. Her hair is black. Her eyes are vivid grass green. She is described as lithe and humanoid in shape, with an ageless face. Despite her ancient nature, she tends to dress in regular Earth-style clothing — Dixie jeans, tee shirts — rather than anything distinctly offworld.

Personality

Karthas is earnest and reliable. She is younger than kal by half a century, and the two have spent the majority of their lives on Xav. She speaks with a low, gravelly voice and a distinct accent, as if constantly catching herself before clipping her words short.

Role in the Story

Karthas was among the first Umbrir to act after Vekka broke the oaths and began steering Camp Mythborn south. She reached out to the demigods of Ironsoul directly, warning them of the approaching threat and providing a runekey — a runestone tablet capable of transporting them to Xav as a last resort.

She returned several times with updated intelligence, working alongside Kal to keep Ironsoul informed as the northern demigods pushed into Georgia.
